What it actually is
Most facials are decided before you walk in. This one is decided after your skin has been looked at properly — because skin that is dehydrated in January and congested in July does not want the same hour.
The shape stays consistent: a double cleanse, an exfoliation chosen for your skin that day, extractions only where they are genuinely warranted, a mask matched to what came before it, and massage through the face, neck, shoulders and décolletage. It closes with protection.
The massage is the part people come back for. It is unhurried and it is not an afterthought, because it is doing real work on lymphatic flow and on the tension people carry in their jaw without noticing.
Who it’s for
- It’s your first facial and you would rather not be lectured
- Your skin is reactive and has been made worse by something aggressive before
- You’re congested, or dull, and topical products have stopped being enough
- You have something coming up and want to look rested rather than treated
What happens in the room
Look at the skin
Under proper light, with a few questions about products, medication and what has changed recently.
Double cleanse and exfoliate
The exfoliation is chosen on the day, at a strength your skin can take.
Treat
Extractions only where warranted, then a mask matched to what your skin actually needs.
Massage and protect
Face, neck, shoulders and décolletage, then moisture and SPF before you leave.
What it will not do
A facial is not dermatology. Persistent acne, rosacea, or anything changing shape or colour belongs with a doctor first — and clearing real congestion takes a course of visits, not one good hour.
Afterwards
- SPF, properly, especially for the next few days
- No retinoids or acids for 48 hours
- Skip the gym, sauna and hot showers for the rest of the day
- If you had extractions, leave the area alone completely
Questions about signature facial
How often should I come?
Roughly every four to six weeks tracks the skin’s own renewal cycle. If we are working on something specific, the spacing gets set at The Discovery.
Will I break out afterwards?
Occasionally, if extractions brought congestion to the surface. It usually settles within a few days, and you will be told beforehand if it is likely for your skin.
I have sensitive skin. Is this safe?
That is exactly why nothing is decided in advance. Strength, products and whether to exfoliate at all are chosen for your skin on the day, and less is a completely acceptable answer.
Can I have a facial before an event?
Yes, but book it a week ahead rather than the day before, so anything that surfaces has time to settle.
You’re already beautiful,
embrace it.
